Geeta Exports began in 1978 as a two-craftsman workshop in North Kolkata, turning pegs for a handful of local instrument makers. Nearly fifty years later, the workshop is larger, the customers span six continents — but the way we make things has barely changed.

Ebony from certified sustainable sources, boxwood from the foothills, rosewood, tetul — all air-dried in our Kolkata yard for a minimum of seven years before a chisel touches them.

Every peg is turned on a manual lathe. Every tailpiece hand-inlaid. Every endpin fitted and polished by the same craftsman from the first cut to the final wax.

We grade to European luthier standards — no exceptions. Pieces that don't pass go back to the bench, or into the fire. It's the only way to send a shipment we're willing to sign.
The people we serve
Our fittings sit inside instruments played in workshops from Cremona to Chicago, from Tokyo to Berlin. Some of our oldest customers have been ordering the same peg model, unchanged, for over thirty years.
We take on private-label work, custom sizing, unusual inlays and small-batch experiments — the kind of requests that most factories politely decline. If you have an idea worth trying, we would like to hear it.
